What is it?

Paradigms Master Pro is a software quiz, quizzing you on paradigms (word-forms) in a number of languages. The tool is not meant to teach you anything, but to reinforce what you have already learned.

PMP can be used with any grammar, and by anyone who has studied one of the quizzed languages.

FAQ

First, please visit the key recovery tool.

If that doesn't work for you, feel free to write to us, requesting that we send the license key to you.

Updates are free. Upgrades are paid for.

Updates are within one version (e.g, 1.x). Upgrades entail a new version (e.g., 2.x).

Since 2009, we have been providing free updates to version 1.x frequently (see the Release History below).

At some point, we may relase a new major version (version 2.x), which would require a paid-for upgrade, if you wanted to use version 2.x. The old version 1.x would still continue to function, but would no longer receive updates.

Yes. And we don't store or process it — our credit card processing partner, FastSpring.com, does. They use industry-leading SSL encryption and other means to protect your credit card, and they are PCI compliant. We never even see your credit card details.

The license key is issued immediately upon successful payment. If you have bought a license key, it should already be in your email INBOX. If not, please check your junk mail folder. The license key email sometimes lands there.

If you still can't find it, please feel free to contact us.

Release history

All of the releases below have been provided free of charge as updates.

1.8.1 (January 3, 2019)

  • A flaw was fixed in the version quizzing Biblical Greek. The flaw prevented answering correctly on some quizzes in "Full parsing" mode, because the 'tense' field was not set correctly, yet grayed out.
  • Enhancement: The Hebrew verb quizzes now display the Hebrew lexeme quizzed in the quiz, in Hebrew script, instead of in Roman transliteration.
  • Enhancement: The Hebrew quizze categories have been slightly reorganized to be more intuitive, and also shorter.

1.8.0 (December 15, 2018)

  • Latin is now a quizzed language.
  • The Hebrew quizzes have been totally reimagined. There is now a distinction between Textbook paradigms, and paradigms of extant forms. Also, the program now includes all extant, non-suffixed, non-weqatal forms in the BHS for all verbs in the database, including the model strong verb, KTB.
  • The Spanish and Greek quiz structures have been improved.
  • The quizzes have been reorganized into smaller categories for all quizzed languages.
  • A few Greek and Hebrew forms have been corrected.
  • PMP now looks better on screens with high resolutions (such as HiDPI Macbook Pros and iMacs).
  • The program download is smaller, due to a new technology for drawing the forms.
  • Various compatibility fixes for Mac and Windows.

1.7.11 (August 24, 2017)

  • It should now be significantly easier to enter your license key.
  • The program won't "forget" the license key between updates.
  • The words of the quizzed languages are now drawn "on the fly". This should result in even better-looking fonts.
  • Various beautifications.
  • Various bugfixes.

1.7.10 (July 8, 2017)

  • Bugfix for some Hebrew and Greek forms.
  • Greek database significantly expanded.

1.7.5 (January 13, 2015)

  • Hebrew: The "Prepositions + suffixes" quizzes containing the object marker 'et were fixed, so that they could run to completion without giving a blank screen.
  • Hebrew: One form of the verb "sabab" had its vocalization fixed.
  • Hebrew: The quiz names were made more consistent.

1.7.4 (September 15, 2014)

  • Enhancement: Lots of Greek forms added. The total is now more than 3040 Greek forms.
  • Enhancement: Lots of Hebrew forms added. The total is now more than 2060 Hebrew forms.
  • Fix: It used to be that a few forms of the Hebrew verb QWM, though present and analyzed correctly, were present twice, and hence could indicate that a correct answer was wrong. This has been fixed.
  • Changes: Various small cosmetic beautifications.

1.7.3 (February 15, 2014)

  • The analysis of one Hebrew form was corrected (a form of Jare' was wrongly analyzed as nifal yiqtol 3ms, but which should have been both nifal yiqtol 2ms and 3fs).
  • The Spanish form 'usted' is now correctly analyzed as 2nd singular, not 3rd singular!
  • Various small cosmetic beautifications.

1.7.2 (May 24, 2013)

  • Add two more, additional products to the portfolio: One quizzing only Biblical Greek, and one quizzing only Biblical Hebrew. This is the exact same data and the exact same program as the one quizzing Biblical Languages, except for splitting it into the separate languages.
  • The 31 day free trial now gives access to all quizzes and all forms during the 31 day trial period.

1.7.1 (March 22, 2013)

  • A Hebrew form was corrected (missing holem in Qal Active Participle Masculine Singular of Naphal).
  • Some Greek participles, which were in the database, were not quizzable even though they were present. This has been corrected.
  • An issue with the random shuffling of the answers was fixed. In previous versions, the first answer was often correct -- too often. Now it is only correct around 25% of the time when there are 4 possible answers.

1.6.3 (September 24, 2011)

  • A bug was introduced in 1.6.2 that scrambled the lemmas for Hebrew. No other languages were affected. This has been fixed in 1.6.3. Upgrading is highly recommended for users of the Biblical Languages version. Upgrading is optional for users of the Spanish Edition.

The instigator of this plot to teach the world languages for real is Dr. Ulrik Sandborg-Petersen, CEO of Scripture Systems ApS. He gets great help from his team:

The team

Dr. Ulrik Sandborg-Petersen Dr. Ulrik Sandborg-Petersen: Programming, design, and Greek quizzes. The Greek forms were mostly culled from Mounce's Basics of Biblical Greek and his Morphology of Biblical Greek.
Dr. Nicolai Winther-Nielsen Dr. Nicolai Winther-Nielsen: Has contributed the Biblical Hebrew exercises; they largely reflect the Biblical Hebrew Reference Grammar by van der Merwe, Kroeze, and Naudé.
Dr. Ana María Macias Dr. Ana María Macias: Advice on Spanish forms and quizzes.
Kirsten Holsegård-Rasmussen, MA Kirsten Holsegård-Rasmussen, MA: Advice on Spanish forms and quizzes.

We are fanatical

... About the correctness of our databases of forms, that is!

If you find any errors, please, please, please write to us and inform us!!! We have spent countless hours on the databases, and we really, really want them to be error free.

This benefits not only you, but all other users. After all, what good is it to learn something if that something is wrong?
